ABOUT MIKE BEACOM

Mike Beacom is a veteran pro and college football writer – both in print and online – whose work has covered a wide range of topics. Often recognized as one of the Midwest's leading Big Ten football writers, Beacom also has been contracted to provide coverage of the NFL Draft and the Heisman Trophy. His stories have been featured in a number of well-respected publications and Web sites, including Pro Football Weekly, SportsIllustrated.com, Athlon, Lindy’s, Football Digest, CSTV.com, Football.com, Inside Wisconsin Sports, CollegeFootballNews.com, The Packers Report, Southeastern Football Saturdays and Beckett.

His work has earned him industry praise; during the week of Super Bowl XLI, in Miami, one of his articles was recognized by the Pro Football Writers of America as one of the finest pro football articles published in 2006, and the following year he was invited to speak at a sports management conference at Northwestern University.

Beacom is also a leader in the fantasy football industry. He serves as the publisher for Sports Buff, and is the president and chairman of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association. His articles have appeared in more than a dozen different fantasy football print publications, and he’s been featured in numerous expert leagues and polls.

Beacom has been asked to appear as a featured guest on several national radio stations -- ESPN 920 Las Vegas, ESPN 730 Memphis, ESPN 1250 Pittsburgh -- and on the following Wisconsin stations: WTMJ 620 (Milwaukee), WIBA 1310 (Madison), WSCO 1570 (Appleton), ESPN 540 (Waukesha).

In addition to his duties as a pro and college football writer, Beacom serves as the receivers coach and special teams coordinator at Amherst High School, and as an associate lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

He resides in Wisconsin with his partner, Lisa, and their two daughters.
